Orbit, pan and zoom
Section titled “Orbit, pan and zoom”| Action | Mouse | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| Orbit | Middle-drag | Orbit (O) |
| Pan | Shift + middle-drag | Pan (H) |
| Zoom | Scroll wheel or trackpad | Zoom (Z) |
The mouse shortcuts work while any tool is active, and don’t interrupt it. For example, you can orbit halfway through drawing a line, then carry on drawing. Releasing the middle button returns you to the tool you were using.
The scroll wheel zooms toward whatever is under the pointer. With the Zoom tool, drag up to zoom in and down to zoom out. In a perspective view, hold Shift while dragging to change the field of view instead.
Zoom Extents
Section titled “Zoom Extents”View → Zoom Extents (Shift+Z) fits the whole model in the view. Modlumi also does this automatically when you open a file.
Environment
Section titled “Environment”View → Environment switches the background between Studio, a neutral backdrop, and Sky.
Show hidden things
Section titled “Show hidden things”Hidden geometry and objects normally don’t appear at all. Two options in the View menu reveal them, drawn with stippled faces and dotted edges:
- Hidden Geometry shows hidden edges and faces.
- Hidden Objects shows hidden groups and components.
View → Guides shows or hides the guide lines made with the Measure tool. See Hide and unhide for hiding things in the first place.
