Install Modlumi
Modlumi is a desktop 3D modeler for Windows and Linux. You can also try it in your browser without installing anything.
Windows
Section titled “Windows”Download the latest installer from
modlumi.com/download/latest/windows
and run it. Modlumi installs to C:\Program Files\modlumi and adds a Start
menu entry.
There is no Linux download yet. To run Modlumi on Linux, build it from source; the README in the source repository explains how.
Browser preview
Section titled “Browser preview”The browser preview at modlumi.com runs the same modeling tools as the desktop app. It starts with an empty model, and SketchUp files you open stay on your device. A few things only work in the desktop app:
- Saving images (File → Save to Image…)
- Touch controls
In the browser, Save downloads a .modl file instead of writing to disk,
and your session is lost when you reload the page.
Where Modlumi keeps its files
Section titled “Where Modlumi keeps its files”Modlumi writes its log (modlumi.log) and your window layout to a per-user
folder:
| Platform | Folder |
|---|---|
| Windows | %LOCALAPPDATA%\modlumi |
| Linux | $XDG_STATE_HOME/modlumi, by default ~/.local/state/modlumi |
Set the MODLUMI_DATA_DIR environment variable to use a different folder.
Attach modlumi.log when you report a problem through
