Materials
Paint (B) applies a material. Choosing it opens the Materials panel.
- Select a material in the Materials panel.
- Click a face to paint the side you’re looking at, or click a group or component to paint the whole object.
A material painted directly on a face wins over the material of the group or component it’s in. To paint individual faces inside a group or component, open it first.
Choose Default material and click to remove a material, so the default or inherited color shows again.
Each click is one undo step.
Pick a material
Section titled “Pick a material”To reuse a material that’s already in the model, choose Pick Material, the eyedropper next to Paint, and click a surface. Modlumi selects that material and switches back to Paint. While painting, you can also Alt-click a surface to pick its material.
Picking a surface with no material selects Default material.
Edit a material
Section titled “Edit a material”In the Materials panel, click a material’s color swatch to change its color and opacity, then click Apply. Every face and object that uses the material updates. Cancel leaves it unchanged.
Before you’ve painted anything, use the custom color swatch to choose a new color to paint with.
